11 Jan 09 What I always wanted to do.

So. I started playing World of Warcraft before it was even released in South Africa (end of 2005). I fought azeroth in a different era from today. For a long time, one of the main bosses and gates one had to go through was defeating the dragon Onyxia. I don’t play much anymore (only during the holidays), but back then I played a lot. Onyxia was always “there”. I never had enough time to defeat this beast.

Fast forward a few years, and I finally did what I wanted to do! I defeated onyxia with my guildmates. While it took 40 people to do it in the past, we were only 6.

See the pic here.

Now that, that is out of the way, onto the real topic. I don’t quite understand why Blizzard would go through so much trouble to make new content and to just let it “die” when the next expansion comes out… All the old end-game dungeons are empty now. The creeps will have to just keep themselves company hoping for a day when adventurers come to kill them.

Blizzard tried to rectify it a bit by adding in achievements for doing the old dungeons, but most of the rewards are only just a plaque saying “well done mate!”.

Anyway…
