So. I started playing World of Warcraft before it was even released in South Africa (end of 2005). I fought azeroth in a different era from today. For a long time, one of the main bosses and gates one had to go through was defeating the dragon Onyxia. I don’t play much anymore (only during the holidays), but back then I played a lot. Onyxia was always “there”. I never had enough time to defeat this beast.
Fast forward a few years, and I finally did what I wanted to do! I defeated onyxia with my guildmates. While it took 40 people to do it in the past, we were only 6.

Now that, that is out of the way, onto the real topic. I don’t quite understand why Blizzard would go through so much trouble to make new content and to just let it “die” when the next expansion comes out… All the old end-game dungeons are empty now. The creeps will have to just keep themselves company hoping for a day when adventurers come to kill them.
Blizzard tried to rectify it a bit by adding in achievements for doing the old dungeons, but most of the rewards are only just a plaque saying “well done mate!”.
Anyway…

I recently decided to try my hand at a drum and bass (after listening profusely to Pendulum). With the announcement of Diablo 3 fresh in my mind I decided to incorporate Diablo 2 samples. And thus the song, “Diablo and Bass” was born!
I love it (how can I not?), and I wished to share this. If you like it, please share it and pass it around!
You can go listen to it on my MySpace or you can simply get it here.
Release under Creative Commons. You can share it, but you can’t make money of it (WoW gold counts as money too).
Enjoy.
I’ve just watched the live stream from Blizzard’s WWI and Diablo 3 has been confirmed! I am certain the whole gaming community is going crazy. Heck if it wasn’t my mothers birthday today and my good gaming friends weren’t away I would’ve celebrated it with a beer.
So far Diablo 3 looks awesome. To me Diablo 3 should just be more of whar Diablo 2 did right. More hackand slash and more loot! LOTS more loot! And so far it looks like it can’t dissapoint.
The stream to the invitational crashes now and then. I’m enticed to watch some Starcraft and W3 during the weekend. Should be crazy.

I was woken up this morning by my dad phoning me to answer a maths problem… It was fun.
Since my brain was jumpstarted, I immediately went to check what Blizzard’s latest splash screen would reveal. To my dismay, it just created further chaos. The latest rune was from Starcraft. *sigh*. The way they are going at this, it is probably new IP.
Anyhow, I’ve also been busy fixing up this here blog (it looks neat-ish now). I’ll be adding lots more as the time goes by. This is a new hosting package that has been plagued by mod security issues. When I try to edit posts, I get “406 Not acceptable” errors. It turned out to be strong security to prevent “POST insertion payloads”.
I found out what the fix is. You just had to change the .htaccess file to disable mod security. Well not really… It turns out with mod security 2.x, you can’t do that anymore. So now I am taking it up with my host. Hopefully it will get sorted. It is not a huge issue, just a minor niggle.
